5 Things Friday: Shopping Edition

I know, it seems like kind of an abrupt left turn for your weekly antiracism POST to suddenly be about SHOPPING, but hear us out.

SEEK OUT Small, Black-owned businesses. Luckily, it's easier than ever to do so. You can start with REP CO's Ultimate #BUYBLACK Gift Guide, but make sure to bookmark all the others you find, too, from biggies like Beyonce's Black Parade and Black Owned Everything to the myriad of local lists that highlight everything from restaurants, bookstores, and more.

SURROUND YOURSELF Social media tempts us to empty our wallets on the daily. Make sure your feed is full of Black-owned brands, because on the Gram, one good thing always leads to another. REP CO teamed up with over 30 Black-owned brands for a series of giveaways this week and next. Start by following all these brands, and check back next week for our next 2 giveaways and brand lists.

SHOP This one is simple. See something you love? Go ahead and click purchase. Whether it's for yourself or a gift for friends or family.

SHARE Find something or someone you're really into? Shout it out for all to hear. You may not think your opinion matters, but everyone has folks in their lives they can influence. Tell a friend, share on social, or email your own personal list to family. And if you're gifting someone with goodies from a Black brand, don't be shy about letting them know.

SUPPORT Got a little extra to give or work for a company that wants to find creative ways to support Black businesses? REP CO is still looking for sponsors for our last 2 gift bundle giveaways: PARENTS + KIDS and TREAT YOURSELF. We are asking the bundle sponsor to donate anywhere from $1k-5k to allow us to purchase all items in the bundle at full price from the makers. Biggest thanks to Tracy Simmons Design for generously sponsoring our STYLE + DESIGN bundle! Email us ASAP at erin@representcollaborative.com or jessa@representcollaborative.
